By: Catharina Tasyürek / 10.09.2014

This year’s Measurement Summit and fourth annual Conclave meeting is taking place in Durham (New Hampshire) from 27th to 29th October 2014. The Conclave is the Social Media Group of the “Coalition for Public Relations Research Standards” developing industry-wide standards and best practices for Social Media.

Last year, The Conclave established a detailed “#SMMcatalogue”.
Under the theme “So We Have Data, Now What?“ international experts and thought leaders in research and measurement assemble in Durham. The congress is limited to 50 people.

Agenda deals with buzzword “Big Data”

The three-day conference comprises the following thematic focal points:

  • What Does “Good” Data Look Like and What Can it Do?
  • What Does “Bad” Data Look Like and What Can it Do?
  • Big Data Implications for Public Relations
  • So We Have Data, Now What?

The Measurement Summit forms part of the actual debate around the raising of Big Data, that especially gained in importance because of the fast dissemination of Social Media Monitoring. The collection and analysis of an extensive amount of data are attentive to the desire for deep stakeholder insights and a more valuable gain of knowledge.

The Measurement Summit is presented by the Institute for Public Relations' Measurement Commission, where research practitioners and thought leaders from organizations, public relations agencies, research firms and academia join efforts to develop and promote standards and best practices for research and measurement. All those interested can register here.
